S&A’s FS Series Compost Spreader

The FS series spreaders do a great job of spreading compost, lime, gypsum, manure and nearly any other bulk material you want to spread at a high rate.  This spreader has a 9 yard capacity, although it can hold even more with a 12″ or 24″ side extensions. This is a reliable machine and it has proven to stand up to many years of use. We have had customers who have made them last for 20+ years simply by utilizing excellent maintenance programs. It has also been modified countless times to fit a customers specific needs. Take a look at our multiple-drop and truck-mounted versions too!

Features

Our standard FS series spreader is the FS 1230. It is 12 feet long and has a 30″ wide bar conveyor chain. The self contained hydraulics on this unit provide an impressive amount of power, plus we have an optional heavy duty hydraulic package as well. We also have a heavy duty frame, axle and wheel package available. The hydraulics are fully self contained, with a PTO pump that mounts onto the tractor. If the customer wishes, we can eliminate the pump and equip the hoses with quick disconnects so it can be easily hooked up to the tractor’s hydraulic system. We also build a rear conveyor bander for these units. The bander is perfect for placing large amounts of material right on the burm in vineyards or orchards. The bander and spinner assembly are interchangeable and if both are needed, the unit can be converted in a few minutes from broadcaster to a bander.

Operation

The operation of the FS 1230  spreader is very simple. By simply hooking the PTO pump or hydraulic quick disconnects to your tractor, you can pull the unit and control the rate of delivery and width from the tractor and turn it on and off as needed. This unit can spread as much material as you want per acre, depending on how fast you set the variable hydraulic controls and your ground speed.
